Relationship Myths
and why you should be glad they are not true

               We should stay together for the children....

       This is a noble idea in theory. However, research shows that children of intact families that are unhappy have the same kinds of behavior, emotional and academic problems as kids from divorced families that are unhappy. Kids from divorced families who get along do better than kids from unhappy intact families. So is divorce the answer?  

      The difference is not divorce or staying intact. What makes life better for kids is when their parents get along and are happy. If you can learn to get along after going through the pain and battle of divorce, why not learn to get along while you are married. You can learn to have a great marriage. It was good once and I know it may be hard to believe right now, but it can be again.
